Not suitable for
Flexi users must be authorized to walk dogs, familiar with how to walk dogs and able to safely control the dog and keep it under observation at all times. Persons who do not meet these requirements, including children, should not use the Flexi.
How to Use
You want to take your dog for a walk? Then put on his lead and let him enjoy his walk. Your retractable lead will do everything else for you. The tape/cord will not slack and get dirty and you don't have to adjust the length manually.
You want to stop your dog? Press the brake button.
You want your dog to walk close by? Shorten the lead and keep your dog at your side with the brake locked.
Read the directions for use.
Leading the dog:
Lock the brake. Place the included safety loop around the dog's neck, parallel to the collar. Pull the hook of your Flexi through all three metal rings (loop - collar - loop).
When using a harness, pull the safety loop through at least one strap of the harness and link the rings on the safety loop using the D-ring and the snap hook.
Free run:
Always hold the Flexi by the hand grip. As long as you do not activate the brake button, the rope or belt will easily extend and retract.
Stopping:
Press the brake button with your thumb. Let go of the brake button when the dog comes back to you, so that the lead is always taut.
Retracting:
Swing your arm forward while holding the Flexi, press the brake button with your thumb, and pull your arm back toward you. When you let go of the brake button and swing your arm forward again with the Flexi, the lead will automatically retract. Repeat this process until your dog is at the desired distance from you.
Heeling:
Bring the dog back to you, press the brake button, and then slide the brake lock forward with your thumb. To release the brake lock, pull the lock backward with your thumb.
Care Instructions
If the Flexi lead (cord or tape lead) gets wet, please pull it out of the case completely, activate the brake lock, and let it dry overnight. Remove adherent dirt from tape/cord and casing before you retract the lead. Strong abrasion or damages - often caused by bites - can harm cord or tape. Please do not continue to use a Flexi lead in such a case.
Safety Information
Flexi users must be authorized to walk dogs, familiar with how to walk dogs and able to safely control the dog and keep it under observation at all times. Persons who do not meet these requirements, including children, should not use the Flexi.
Before every use, make sure none of your Flexi components are damaged.
Please note that even high-quality materials are subject to normal wear and tear.
Do not continue to use the Flexi if you see signs of damage or wear.
Do not allow the dog to bite or chew on the rope, belt or other Flexi components. Dog bites in particular can damage the components of your Flexi and accelerate the wear and tear process.
Always use the included safety loop in addition to your own collar or dog harness. This will keep the lead from snapping back if the collar or harness breaks. A quickly retracting lead can cause injuries.
Never hold on to the rope or belt. This can result in injuries.
Do not let the rope or belt wrap around body parts. The rope or belt can cause cuts or friction burns.
Avoid letting the lead hang loosely. Only a taut lead gives you control over the dog. Use the brake lock only if you want the dog to heel on a short lead.
When other people or animals are nearby, always keep the dog on a short lead.
The same applies to breeding areas and near bike paths.
Observe your dog carefully so that you can always respond to dangerous situations, and watch out for other road traffic and pedestrians.
Only hold the Flexi by the hand grip, so that you can use the brake button at any time and prevent the dog from running away out of your control.
Stop your dog with the brake button right away if it runs away suddenly.
Only use the Flexi while on foot, not with your bike or another vehicle.
Do not attach the Flexi to your body. The dog could knock you over due to the tight connection.
Do not attach the Flexi to solid objects. The lead is designed for walking dogs by hand.
Only use the Flexi for walking animals, never for any other purpose.
